Our amber glass bottle range has been created for and by The Eco Society as a simple, aesthetically pleasing and functional waste-free alternative for the bathroom.
The ’Conditioner’ glass bottle holds up to 500ml of liquid and comes with a high-quality black plastic twist pump. The glass bottles have been sourced from a New Zealand family run wholesaler. The text on the bottles is a kiln fired screen print, done locally in Aotearoa.
In our house, we refill liquid handwash, body wash, shampoo & conditioner in bulk at our local bulk store and use these bottles as our dispensers in the bathroom, which look great. Best of all they significantly reduce the amount of household plastic waste produced in the bathroom, win-win!

Tip: To open the pump remove it from the bottle and untwist firmly counterclockwise.
Care
The glass bottle should require very little care; however, you may want to wash them out every now and then to stop the pump getting clogged. You can do this by handwashing with hot soapy water, we also use a bottle brush to ensure a good clean inside the bottle.
If you find the hand pump has become clogged or stiff, don’t throw it away. Instead, remove the pump from the bottle, and pump hot water through the pump and tube to clean it. Once clean, pump a tablespoon of olive oil or vegetable oil through the pump several times.
Please be careful using these in the shower as it is glass, which is fragile and can be slippery when wet. Pay extra attention if you have little ones in the house.

The glass bottle can be recycled at your local recycling facility.
Due to the number of components used to make the handpump, it is unfortunately not currently recyclable. We will be working on finding a better solution for future products like this, as it is not ideal for us to have products that cannot be reused, recycled or composted. Before throwing it out, however, check with us as we may be able to find a replacement part of offer a better alternative to throwing it out.
